For El Paso, where growth and extreme weather create constant demand for skilled trades, technical training is not just helpful. It is vital.

Two Pathways to Choose From
Tropicana Properties is proud to offer scholarships that fully fund tuition for two high-impact programs at Western Tech:
HVAC Technician
Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning professionals are in high demand across El Paso. With long, hot seasons, reliable cooling is a necessity for families and businesses. HVAC offers steady work, strong earning potential, and a clear path to entrepreneurship. Many local technicians have gone on to start their own companies and become their own boss.
Lineworker Program
This program prepares students to build, maintain, and repair the electrical infrastructure our region depends on. The pathway is structured and rewarding: a 12-week program, followed by 6 to 8 months as a helper, then about 4 years as an apprentice, leading to a professional lineworker role. Experienced lineworkers frequently earn over $100,000 per year.
HOW TO APPLY
Meet the eligibility requirements
- Be a current Tropicana Properties resident listed on a lease agreement.
- Start classes within 90 days of receiving the scholarship.
- Be proficient in reading and writing in English.
- Meet Western Tech’s admission requirements.
Submit the required documents
- Complete the scholarship application.
- Write a minimum 250-word essay explaining why you are pursuing your chosen field, your future goals, and how this education will impact your life and family.
